“But private schools can’t meet the needs of all students!” We’ve often heard this claim put forward by status quo advocates at school choice hearings before the state legislature.
That statement is concerning on many levels, but the assumption that public schools are somehow meeting the needs of all students is particularly troubling. For one thing, it’s an assumption that can only be made through ignorance of graduation rates, the achievement gap, and college entrance exam scores from public schools across the state.
Is Beaufort School District meeting the needs of all students?
Not according to the State Department of Education. In fact, the district has apparently been violating federal rules about the treatment of disabled children. According to investigators from the State Department of Education, special needs students who were suspended from school for more than ten days have not been receiving required special education…

It’s no secret that the NYPD regularly tracks movement across Manhattan using thousands of surveillance cameras installed on the island, but protesters at last week’s Occupy Wall Street anniversary were in the presence of a whole new spy system.
Researchers with the PrivacySOS.org blog spotted an unusual get-up attached to a New York Police Department vehicle during the recent September 17 actions that commemorated Occupy’s one-year anniversary. More than a week later, little remains known about unusual equipment assumed to be state-of-the-art surveillance technology previously used during presidential motorcades.
According to the post published Wednesday to PrivacySOS, increased surveillance was evident in Lower Manhattan during the OWS anniversary in the form of watch towers and cameras affixed to poles atop unmarked police cars. At least one unmarked law enforcement vehicle was also equipped with a series of spooky gadgets and gizmos connected through heavy duty cables, resembling some sort…

In his first run for President, Obama pledged he would not raise taxes on people making less than 200 thousand dollars a year. As it turns out, 80 percent of Americans who will face a “penalty” for Obamacare, are making up to or less than five times the federal poverty level.
According to a Congressional Budge analysis just released, once Obamacare is fully effective, almost 6 million people in America will face a tax penalty for not carrying medical coverage. Seems to me, this is yet another broken promise by the Obama Administration.
Starting in 2014, the new health care law requires virtually every legal resident of the U.S. to carry health insurance or face a tax penalty. The Supreme Court upheld Obama’s law as constitutional in a 5-4 decision this summer, finding that the insurance mandate and the tax penalty enforcing it fall within…

There’s a revolt of sorts brewing among citizens of a growing number of states who realize that, no matter how much they pay on their mortgage or how long ago they may have paid that mortgage off, they never truly own their homes. Rather, because of the property tax, Americans really just rent their homes from the government.
On Tuesday, North Dakotans were trying to reassert their property rights by voting on Measure 2, a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the state’s property tax for good.
“I would like to be able to know that my home, no matter what happens to my income or my life, is not going to be taken away from me because I can’t pay a tax,” said Susan Beehler, one in a group of North Dakotans who support ending the tax. “When did we come to believe that government should…

As reported by Breitbart, the U. S. Department of States issued a travel warning advising Americans to avoid Libya. The date of the travel warning is August 27, 2012, exactly two weeks prior to the September 11, 2012 terrorist attacks. A screenshot of the travel warning is posted below.
In addition to issuing to the travel warning, the Department of State also posted a threat assessment on their website for Libya which “highlights a pattern of threats toward diplomats in Benghazi by ‘extremist groups'” also dated August 27, 2012, a screenshot of which has also been provided below.
As also reported by Breitbart,
“…News reports from the five months before the attack on the US Consulate show a slew of attacks on western outposts and diplomats in Benghazi:

WW111 on the rise!
“The melee occurred outside the gates of the US embassy on Tuesday and security guards had to intervene to protect Gary Locke, 62. The protesters caused minor damage to the vehicle, a statement from the embassy said.
‘Embassy officials have registered their concern regarding today’s incident with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and urged the Chinese Government to do everything possible to protect American facilities and personnel,’ the statement said.
The incident happened on Tuesday, while large crowds of protesters were massed outside the Japanese embassy nearby, to demand that Japan relinquish control of an island chain claimed by China in the waters between the two countries….”
The first video is of the attack on US Ambassador Gary Locke’s car.
