Money under the Mattress, Shotgun by the Door

I was pretty young when I remember playing with my Great-grandmother’s silver coins.  I was fascinated by the dates on the old Morgans and Peace dollars.  1908 seemed like an eternity ago to a young boy.  One day, as I was getting something out of her dresser drawers, I was surprised to see quite a sizable stack of dollar bills…or “folding money” as it was called to her generation.

I asked her why she didn’t have the money in the bank.  It never crossed my mind that someone would keep so much money around.  She politely but assertively told me “that money is fine right there.  Better there than in the bank.”  I was much too young to understand her reasons at the time but as I got older I began to understand.  My Great-grandmother, and many of her time, did not trust banks as far as they could throw them.  Why would they?

Her generation’s mistrust was well-earned.  I read about the banks closing and taking millions of people’s money from them during the depression.  I read about the giant land grabs as a result of the severe economic downturn that paralyzed a nation during the 1930’s.  Because of my Great-grandmother, and what I have begun to see, the dresser drawer is looking better and better.

Just this week the Cyprus government, pressured by the Euro-zone central Bank, went into their citizen’s bank accounts and flat took up to 10%.  That was not a misprint…they stole 10% of the money in private bank accounts.  The people rightfully panicked and ran to the ATM as fast as they could.  Withdrawals were suspended quickly thereafter.  A Banking “Holiday” was declared.

A Banking Holiday?  Is that when the bankers steal your money and then go to Hawaii?  It may be fun for the bankers but certainly not for the people.  During this “Holiday” financial transactions are suspended in an effort to keep the money from leaving the country.  Wow, and I was under the impression the money in the bank was actually MINE.  How silly of me.

The same day the people of Cyprus were being robbed of 10% politicians in other countries throughout Europe were calling for a 15% “haircut” from accounts.  I guess 10% wasn’t enough for the bankers.  In America Chase Bank accounts were zeroed out throughout the country.  A panicked populous was about to riot when it was reported as a glitch and the money was returned to the accounts.  One observant customer noticed his account was at zero but the “amount (he) owed them stayed the same.”  Of course it did.  All this money is going straight to the central bankers anyway.  Do you think they would make such a mistake in YOUR favor?

The economic atmosphere around the globe is getting closer and closer to the Thirties.  In some ways it’s already worse.  I am not saying the sky is falling but I have seen Chicken Little staring up a lot.  Growing pressure on the working class is coming to a head.  The people suffer and the banks run amok and take whatever is not tied down.  That dresser drawer is indeed looking better and better.

Watch your wallet close because the pickpockets are the ones holding your money.  The proverbial fox watching the hen house.  A lifetime ago our Country came face to face with Thomas Jefferson’s most dire warning;

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their money, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them (around the banks), will deprive the people of their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

The economic upheaval of the Depression is coming back around and the ones I see winning are companies with the word “bank” at the end of their name.  How does every game of Monopoly end?  With one player owning everything and all the rest of the money back in the bank.  Sound familiar?  For years we have bought into the banking/paper-money establishment hook, line and sinker.  But I believe the tide is turning.

The attitude in our country and throughout the world is not so trusting as it used to be.  Is there anything as American as a healthy distrust of our government and banking system?  As fast as Americans are turning those slips of Federal Reserve Notes into guns, ammo and precious metals maybe the mantra for the next decade will be; “Money under the Mattress, Shotgun by the Door.”  And who would blame them?  Sure is hard to take 10% when its under the bed.  My Great-grandmother is looking smarter every day.

Maybe Rand Paul Was Right!!!

 It has to be obvious to the keen observer that the educational system of our Country has tried long and hard to separate us from our foundation.  Our children are taught less and less about the Revolutionary period of the late 1700’s that produced the greatest form of government in recorded history…a Constitutional Republic based on the charter of the Declaration of Independence.  There was an unbreakable link between man and his Creator protected by Law.  The Constitution was not ratified at first because it was not strong enough.  Ten Amendments were added to the final draft.  In 1791 the States finally ratified the Constitution with the attached Bill of Rights and the Rule of Law commenced in America.

Not one person living today was there to sign the original Constitution but the Founders still made provisions to link us back to the original Law in the most definite way possible…an Oath.  All government offices come with an exact price.  They must take an Oath to uphold and defend the Constitution before they can take their position.  Here is an example:

***I swear (or affirm) to support, obey, and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State (whichever one they are operating in) Constitution, and to discharge the duties of the office with fidelity.***

 This Oath takes precedent over every other duty and breaking it is paramount to treason.  In one action it is the link back to our past and it is the protection for our future.  One of several brilliant parts of our declared Law.  For over 230 years members of Congress, the President, sheriffs and your city mayor all took this Oath (or one very similar depending on the State) and usually swore it with their hand on the Bible as respect and understanding that God would be the ultimate judge.

Why do I bring this up now?  Within the past couple of days the newly appointed CIA head Brennan took his position and swore an Oath similar, but not quite the same, to every one of his predecessors.  The differences are alarming.  This time he had the White House reach into the vault and retrieve an original copy of the 1787 Constitution (void of the Bill of Rights).  He put his left hand on the faulty document (not on the Bible) and then took his Oath.  The irony and subterfuge in this act is tangible.  It is an affront to all we hold dear and to the Law.

Smedley Butler was one of the most decorated war heroes this country has ever known.  He was quoted as saying;

“There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights.” 

There is nothing as important to our peace and safety as adherence to the Bill of Rights.  It seems more than ironic that after one of the most dramatic Senate debates for the appointment of Brennan, one in which Rand Paul argued for the 4^th, 5^th and 7^th Amendments of the Constitution, that when Brennan does finally get appointed he uses an insufficient copy of the Constitution that is absent of ALL the Amendments to swear his Oath of office.  Rand Paul made National news over the question of “drone strikes” against Americans.  He filibustered his heart out to bring attention to and protection of the Bill of Rights.  After so much back and forth from both parties about how this was an unfounded concern I think now maybe we should be concerned.

Patrick Henry was so incensed that the original Constitutional Convention of 1787 was not going to produce some kind of Declaration of Rights that he refused to attend.  George Mason, the co-author of the Second Amendment refused to support the 1787 version for the same reason.  Many of the Revolutionaries were so outraged and troubled that the Constitution as written in 1787 WAS NOT ratified as Law.  I repeat…WAS NOT ratified into Law.

The American colonists were highly paranoid and sensitive to government intervention in their lives.  They were not looking to form a perfect government as much as they were trying to protect themselves FROM government.  Every one of them was well aware of the repeated and creeping abuses of the crown.  The first Ten Amendments to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, were added as absolute, come rain or shine, no crosses count, solid as a rock guarantees that all the endowments by our Creator…including “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” would be held inviolate and sacrosanct in America.  To address this point even further the Ten Amendments took some of the most important of those Rights and specifically listed them.

In the Preamble it makes clear exactly what the intentions of the Bill of Rights are;

“THE Conventions of a number of the States, having at the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added: And as extending the ground of public confidence in the Government…”

The feelings of the Founders are more than obvious when you study their writings and speeches. They were freakishly obsessed and concerned about the subject.  The Bills Of Rights were put in place to further protect us and “prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers” by government.  Only in recent generations has this meaning been clouded.  So much so that now the head “Spy” in America sees no need to swear an Oath to uphold these Rights that our Founders would not even ratify as Law without.  Are you upset yet?  We haven’t even discussed the fact he refused to use a copy of the Bible to swear upon.

Brennan’s actions are a right hook to our Law.  A punch right in the face.  While Rand Paul debates whether drone strikes are Constitutional or not our Founders shake with indignation from the grave and the alleged CIA chief sees no need to swear allegiance to such limiting Laws as the Bill of Rights.  God Almighty, please help us?

Not only is Brennan Constitutionally lacking with such an insufficient Oath he is subverting the most important part of our Law ever devised.  Smedley Butler would probably be ready to march on his office.  Aaron Burr would probably challenge Brennan to a duel.  Patrick Henry would cry Treason to the rooftops. But the Obama administration puts such a man in charge of the CIA.  What he did was against the Law and voids his appointment but do you think there are enough people to count on one hand in Congress who even care?  When the traitors to our Law sit in such positions and openly mock the Bill of Rights how secure in our God-given unalienable rights should any of us feel?

Hold your Constitution tight ladies and gentlemen.  Not the 1787 version…I mean the 1791 version that is our Law.  If you are not careful the nuts running the asylum will steal it while you are watching Dancing with the Stars and replace it with a godless UN charter or something.  You know, because who needs Rights endowed by our Creator and a Bill of Rights to guarantee their protection.  We would be waaaay better without any of those archaic institutions from our deplorable past.  Damn those Revolutionaries are always complicating things.
