The US Justice Department is being sued after failing to adhere to Freedom of Information Act requests for documents on a federal surveillance program that has targeted the email and phone conversations of Americans throughout the last five years.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a San Francisco-based advocacy groups that fights to protect civil liberties in the digital age, filed a lawsuit on Thursday this week that names the Department of Justice as the sole defendant.

The former Marine who was unlawfully detained and placed in a psychiatric institution by authorities is filing a civil lawsuit against government officials involved.
Brandon Raub, 26, was detained on August 16 in connection to Facebook posts critical of the government after authorities from the FBI, Secret Service and local Virginia police questioned him at his home in Chesterfiled, Va.
On August 20 a judge ordered Raub to spend up to 30 days in a psych ward, but on August 23 a circuit court judge dismissed the government’s case and ordered Raub’s immediate release because the petition for his detainment was “so devoid of any factual allegations that it could not be reasonably expected to give rise to a case or controversy.”
Now the decorated Marine veteran is suing the government officials who were involved in the unlwaful arrest and detention.

Recently I was talking with two different sources that will remain anonymous to protect the identification from possible government prosecution about Underground area 51 sites around the world. I was told that Lake Ontario had one from Co-worker who was an ex Marine who was a Military Police who protected that base. It was said that if threat of Nuclear War ever broke out that this is one the place that the US president would go. He said that the area is protected by the USCoast Guard and US Military.
The second source is a friends mother who dated a high up government official who bragged to her about this secret underwater military base, under Lake Ontario that he was aware of, He said that if anything was to happen during the Cold war with the Russians like a Nuclear War was to go hot that he and his family would be protected from nuclear fall out at that underwater base!
Now I have no first hand knowledge of this underwater base only hearsay, but I have no reason to believe that these two people would have any reason to lie to me or about this place. Neither of these people knew of each other and about talking to me about this underwater base. According to Malcolm Williams, researcher for the Northeastern UFO Organization, infrared photos taken in the dark of night from the shores of Lake Ontario show all sorts of anomalies which cannot be either conventional aircraft or meteorological phenomena. Taken on various occasions, the photos show a pattern of lights in the sky which are definitely under intelligent control as they zig zag from one position to another in the heavens. One photo shows an object actually resting on top of the water, apparently about ready to make a plunge beneath Lake Ontario.
Many of the photos taken by Malcolm Williams, a former member of the Royal Astronomical Association, were done from a position which would indicate that the main area of interest is over the lake between Oakville and Toronto. This theory is supported by Harry Picken, an aeronautical engineer, pilot, and past president of Genair Ltd., a St. Catharine’s aircraft research firm. Picken, who owns a home right on the banks of the lake, has been keeping tabs on the aerial movements near his property for years. One of the most peculiar things the engineer has noticed is that the lights are usually orange, a color foreign to aircraft lights. “The orange color indicates to me a high sodium content in the light source. Sodium is never used in conventional aircraft lighting,” he further points out.
Both Harry Picken and Malcolm Williams believe that the UFO activity over Lake Ontario is somehow related to the fact that a high voltage hydro generating station is located at nearby Lakeview. The UFOs have been seen repeatedly to lift up from the lake and head in the direction of the plant.
Over the years, many odd occurrences have taken place in and around Lake Ontario. In his book, “The Great Lakes Triangle,” Jay Gourley tells of several air mishaps in this very locale, adding substance to the theory that something totally “alien” is operating in and around this body of water.
“There is little doubt that the pilot of the twin jet CF-101 Canadian Air Force interceptor, number 18112, knew he was in trouble on August 23, 1954,” Gourley states in his well researched reference work on the subject. “He was near Ajax, Ontario, on the north shore of Lake Ontario. He bailed out. He explained later that the aircraft became impossible to control. Publicly, the Canadian Defense Headquarters refused to reveal the cause of the accident. The official cause is classified secret. I have seen this secret file. It says the scientists who studied the case could not determine what caused the jet to become unmanageable.” It could be that UFOs utilizing highly magnetized equipment beneath the surface could have accidentally or purposely pulled the aircraft out of the sky.

(FOX19) – Mitt Romney accepts the Republican nomination tonight. While that should be the highlight of the convention, it is quickly being overshadowed by the shocking steps taken by Republican leadership.
We told you earlier this week about rule changes that would strip Republican grassroots from having a say in the future.
Tonight, evidence that the outcome of the vote on those rules was scripted and Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner may have played right along.

A recent poll by the Associated Press ranked the TSA as unpopular with Americans as the IRS. In response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, something had to be done — but did we do the right thing?
An increasing number of Americans are saying “No.” Most travelers have had at least one frustrating experience with the TSA. Of greater concern are scientific studies showing the TSA actually makes us less safe.
Earlier this year, a four-year-old girl hugged her grandma while passing through security, causing TSA agents to suspect she might have been passed a weapon. Their first reaction was to yell at the little girl. When TSA agents approached the terrified four-year-old for a pat down, she ran the other way, crying and shaking uncontrollably. In response, TSA agents threatened to shut down the airport.
Another incident occurred in Florida when TSA agents opened an urn containing the ashes of a deceased family member and spilled them, then laughed at the family’s distress.
At least the TSA keeps us safe, right? Think again. TSA body scanners, banned in Europe as a threat to human health due to radiation emissions, are largely ineffective. At Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, an undercover agent was able to smuggle guns through security every time she tried.
Unlike the metal detectors they replaced, body scanners are not reliable at detecting metal objects. Nor can they reliably detect explosives. TSA agents have confirmed this off the record numerous times, and scientific studies such as “An evaluation of airport x-ray backscatter units based on image characteristics,” by Leon Kaufman and Joseph W. Carlson confirm the anecdotes.
Last year, a federal court ordered the TSA to begin taking comments from the public regarding body scanners, and justify its policies, but the TSA has yet to comply. The TSA is not only incompetent, it is out of control.
We need to abolish the TSA and return control of security to individual airports. Individual airports must respond to customer complaints, and people must get fired when they do something wrong. Greater accountability and fewer bureaucratic pressures will also ensure better security.
Last year, TSA agents allowed a man to carry box cutters on board a flight at JFK Airport. Let’s stop pretending the TSA is going to protect us against the next terrorist attack, and return to common sense and common decency in protecting our skies.

Also, video of the rule change vote at the Republican National Convention shows that the vote seemed to be a toss up with no clear winner and yet the ayes were immediately declared winners. This declaration was drowned out by loud booing. Also, before John Boehner called for the vote, he asked if there were any objections and there were clearly people who objected and yet John Boehner said there were none.

Relatives of 9/11 victims, concerned about rumors that a free state-run ferry to Manhattan for the anniversary of the terrorist attacks had been canceled, were told Thursday that the complimentary service will be available this year as it has for the past decade.
State officials said the free ferry service between Liberty State Park in Jersey City and Manhattan had never been canceled, as some people believed after reading posts to an online forum for 9/11 victims that said it was not going to be offered. As Governor Christie delivered the keynote speech at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night, 9/11 relatives were being asked to write him to ask that the service be restored.
“I don’t know how that got out,” said Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the state Attorney General’s Office. “The governor never cut the service.”
