2012 DNC: Dick Durbin and Bret Baier Fiery Debate over Progressives Removal of “God” and Pro-Israel Language from Platform
To put it mildly, Durbin came off as a chump and a disgrace. It is so like Progressives to pick a fight in order to divert attention away from their sins.
Dick Durbin is showing his paranoia and guilt.
2012 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION: “God” and Pro-Israel Language Re-Added to Platform
Twenty-four hours after a national uproar eruupted regarding Progressives removing “God” and Pro-Israel language from their platform, Progressives buckled and reversed the ruling by voting the language back into the platform.
Correction, the language was not exactly voted back in. It was re-inserted by fiat. Sound familiar?
“Tonight, the Democratic National Committee suspended the rules of the convention and inserted language regarding God and the State of Israel back to its platform. They had to vote three times to do it – and they had to lie to deem it passed, even though it was clear that the measure did not pass a voice vote in the chamber. The original 2012 Democratic Party platform had excised all mention of God and Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa of Los Angeles, the head of the Democratic National Convention, got up and asked for a…

Hacker holds Romney tax returns ransom for $1M in Bitcoins
By Meghan Kelly
VENTURE BEAT
Ready for the most outlandish story of your morning? Here we go. Today, a hacker allegedly stole Mitt Romney’s tax returns, is demanding $1 million in Bitcoins for silence, and sent a USB drive and letter to the GOP and Democratic party offices in Williamson County, Tennessee as proof.
Williamson County Republican party executive director Jean Barwick confirmed to VentureBeat that the U.S. Secret Service has taken the USB drive and letter from the GOP party office to examine it and see if this is a hoax or a real situation.
“We don’t know what this will turn into if anything,” said Barwick in an interview with VentureBeat. “[The Secret Service] didn’t say what they would do with it.”
In a letter, the hacker says the records were stolen from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Franklin, Tenn.

Thought: The Ancestor of Action
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” ~ Buddha
If we all simply step aside, into a sphere of observance, and witness the course of life unfold around us, we can learn a truth that hides nowhere but in plain sight. Wind blows, water flows, earth moves and life is abundantly born in each moment of eternal creation. Thought is the mirror to this graceful motion of nature. Thoughts are things, and are born such as life.
We humans have the incredible ability to remake the world in our own minds. We can alter it, shape it and recreate it without movement, with simple conscious thought. In fact, in one brief moment, in half the time it takes to blink, one single articulation of thought can impact a person or generations of people for millennia, and correspondingly…

Turkish jets hit Kurdish militant positions-sources
By Seyhmus Cakan

DIYARBAKIR, Turkey
(Reuters) – Turkish fighter planes and attack helicopters pounded suspected Kurdish militant positions near the southeastern border with Syria and Iraq late on Wednesday in a major air-and-ground operation, security sources said.
“Around 2,000 soldiers are involved in the operation. Cobra helicopters … are bombing targets on the Kato mountain,” a security source told Reuters, referring to a location in Turkey’s southeastern Sirnak province.
Around 10 F-16 fighter planes had been sent to support the operation, the source said.
The assault comes days after fighters from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) killed 10 members of the security services in simultaneous attacks on four state and security installations in the province.
More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict between the PKK and Turkish forces since the militants launched their insurgency 28 years ago with the aim of carving out a…

China, U.S. divided over Syria, sea dispute, but vow goodwill
By Andrew Quinn
REUTERS
(Reuters) – China and the United States were divided on Wednesday over how to end the bloodshed in Syria and defuse tension in the South China Sea and other global troublespots, but stressed hope for steady ties as they navigate political transitions at home.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi vowed goodwill after talks which had been preceded by criticism from Beijing of Clinton’s calls for a multilateral solution to the territorial disputes in the South and East China Seas.
Clinton told reporters that such disagreements did not have to hobble cooperation.
“I’m very proud of the strength and resilience that we have built into our relationship,” she said after talks with Yang in the cavernous Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
“It makes it possible for us to talk about anything, and to find ways to tackle…

Hundreds of Afghan soldiers detained, sacked for insurgent links
By Mirwais Harooni
REUTERS
(Reuters) – The Afghan army has detained or sacked hundreds of soldiers for having links to insurgents, the Defense Ministry said on Wednesday, as it tries to stem the rising number of so-called insider attacks.
It made the announcement as NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen called Afghan President Hamid Karzai to express his concern over the attacks, in which Afghan servicemen have killed at least 45 NATO-led troops this year, including 15 in August, compared with 35 for all of last year.
“Hundreds were sacked or detained after showing links with insurgents. In some cases we had evidence against them, in others we were simply suspicious,” Defense Ministry spokesman Zahir Azimi told reporters in Kabul.
“Using an army uniform against foreign forces is a serious point of concern not only for the Defense Ministry but for the whole Afghan government,” Azimi said, adding that Karzai…
