On Tuesday, Ron Paul will appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno for the second time since December, when then-candidate Paul spoke with Leno about his presidential campaign at a time when the Republican race was very much up for grabs. Paul’s appearance comes on the heels of the revelation that he will not endorse Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson for president. Johnson, the former two-term governor of New Mexico who originally ran for the Republican nomination this year, is ideologically the most compatible candidate with Paul in this year’s presidential field.

This disclosure comes a week after Paul said that he does not “fully endorse” Mitt Romney for president, a candidate with whom he vehemently disagreed during the GOP debates, particularly on the issue of foreign policy. Thus, it does not appear that Paul will endorse anyone for president this year, though if Leno has…

• Worst humanitarian crisis in nation’s history threatens United States

By Keith Johnson
AMERICAN FREE PRESS

You don’t need to thumb through a history book to find snapshots of Americans suffering through a great depression. Today, the poverty stricken are more visible than ever. They’re living in cars, under freeway bypasses and camping out in tent cities that are popping up around the country.

Hard times are upon us, and the empirical evidence is there to prove it. Last year, the Bureau of the Census, more commonly referred to as the United States Census Bureau, introduced a new way of measuring poverty by adding in those with incomes less than 50% above the poverty line. According to an article in The New York Times, “That number of Americans is 76% higher than the official account, published in September [2011]. All told, that places 100M people—one in three Americans—either in poverty or…

Secretive N.Y. eavesdropping unit admits spying on Muslims in America a huge waste of time

After squandering millions of taxpayer dollars and subjecting thousands of Muslim Americans to surveillance, a six-year investigation by the New York Police Department’s (NYPD) Demographics Unit has proved to be a total failure, resulting in not even a single case being opened against suspected-to-be-guilty parties. According to Assistant Chief Thomas Galati, “I never made a lead from rhetoric that came from a demographics report, and I was here since 2006.”

Up until last year, NYPD officials have denied the existence of this police body, which was created with assistance from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Today, it has been renamed the Zone Assessment Unit.

The extent to which this blanket investigation has gone is staggering. During its six-year tenure, NYPD agents amassed an enormous database on mosques, shopping centers, Muslim residences, workplaces, restaurants and social groups. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informants and undercover…

Jim DeMint: No Internet Taxation Without Representation | THE JEENYUS CORNER

Jim DeMint: No Internet Taxation Without Representation

By JIM DEMINT
WALL STREET JOURNAL

Our nation was born from the idea of “no taxation without representation”—that citizens should not be taxed by governments in which they have no political voice. Yet now lawmakers in Washington want to overturn that bedrock principle in order to extract more revenues from American consumers.

The Marketplace Fairness Act recently introduced in the Senate would require online retailers to collect and pay sales taxes to states where they have no physical presence or democratic recourse. Overstock.com, eBay and the like could have to pay sales taxes to any state from which an Internet user placed an order, even if the company’s headquarters, warehouses and sales staff are located entirely in other states.

Such online sales tax proposals are taxation without representation. The proposed federal law tells businesses that there is no escape from the clutches of tax-hungry politicians. That concept is antithetical to…

UFO secrets to be revealed soon

HINDUSTAN TIMES

Closeted UFO believers may have a reason to come out at least for one night this month as a Smithsonian Institution affiliated museum in Las Vegas has announced plans for an event featuring speakers from both the U.S. military and U.K, delving into the extra-terrestrial mysteries of Area 51.

The National Atomic Testing Museum announced the one-night event, scheduled for September 22, to reveal the men’s personal stories that propelled them to write books and lead their own investigations outside, as well as inside, the military.

“What you’re getting from this panel are people who have worked with the military, all of whom certainly agree that UFOs are real, and I think most of them would say it ought to be researched,” the Daily Mail quoted Col. John Alexander, one of the scheduled speakers, as telling the Huffington Post.

“Here, you’re getting a small number [of participants], but…

“It’s not just a possibility, it’s a certainty and an inevitability that a Carrington Event will happen, it’s just a question of when.”

This past week, 153 years ago, the world was set on fire from the Sun. Though there are very few Americans who are aware of this, the historical record is clear: from August 28 until September 2, 1859, several sunspots and solar flares were observed on the sun by the astronomer Richard Carrington. The largest flare took only 17 hours to make it to Earth, which ordinarily takes three to four days. This great geomagnetic storm, known as the solar storm of 1859, the 1859 Solar Superstorm, or the Carrington Event, took the world by storm, no pun intended.

Aurorae were visible across the globe; over the Rocky Mountains it was so bright that gold miners began preparing breakfast at…

A new article out on August 26 revealed that the United States and the UK are running the revolution in Syria out of a townhouse in a posh neighborhood in Istanbul. This news comes as another article by The New York Times details how the U.S. dominates global weapons sales, accounting for as much as 78% of the total trade in armaments.

The Syrian situation is presented as part of an “Arab Spring” rebellion. In truth, though, the turmoil is orchestrated by the West for its own geopolitical interests that include the hunt for natural resources like oil as well as making it safe for more Israeli land grabs.

In Istanbul, according to reports, dozens of Syrian dissidents have been brought to Turkey to be trained as leaders of the Assad opposition by the U.S. State Department’s Office of Syrian Opposition Support (OSOS) and…

Rachel Corrie, the young American girl, “put herself in a dangerous situation,” so it was her fault she was crushed to death by an armored Israeli D9 bulldozer on March 17, 2003. Miss Corrie could have saved herself if she had not protested the demolition of a Palestinian family’s home—and moved out of the zone of danger “as any reasonable person would have done.”

Or so said Israeli Judge Oded Gershon, of the Haifa district court, as he callously tossed out the lawsuit filed by Cindy and Craig Corrie, the grieving parents of Rachel Corrie, “as a last resort to get justice” for their murdered daughter. No price can be put on a human life slaughtered so horrifically, especially one as beautiful as Miss Corrie’s…

California Passes Resolution Equating Criticism of Israel With Anti-Semitism

SECRETSOFTHEFED.COM

Via, Mondoweiss, a new resolution passed by the California State Assembly attempts to limit criticism of Israeli policy on college campuses by equating it with anti-Semitic hate speech. The law urges “California colleges and universities to squelch nascent anti-Semitism” and “encourages university leaders to combat a wide array of anti-Jewish and anti-Israel actions,” according to the Associated Press.

The Assembly’s actions also drew criticism from free speech advocates. Carlos Villarreal, director of the San Francisco chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, called the resolution irresponsible and dangerous because it combines legitimate condemnations of acts of intimidation and hate with specific objections to tactics used to support the Palestinian people.

“In doing so, it can be seen as having no other purpose than to demonize all those who criticize the nation-state of Israel or support the rights of the Palestinian people,” he said.

Typically, those who want to suppress…
