After earlier announcing a big restructure and the closure of some stores, Aussie chocolate shop chain Darrell Lea today shut down all the remaining stores.  They have been around since 1927 so this is a big change in the Australian chocolate landscape.  Their rocklea road and easter eggs were always super popular. The factory will keep running and they will continue to sell through their other partners – usually newsagents, lottery shops etc.

Now I need to figure out my closest outlet to get my hands on their Caramel Snow Bar!

The British Library reported in April this year that it had found a long lost medieval cookbook that included a recipe for roast unicorn – it even included a helpful picture of the unicorn being roasted.

Just as I was about to believe this incredible story from the British Library – I couldn’t help noticing that the date of the article was – 1st April, 2012. April Fools Day! However, it’s a very amusing article nevertheless and click HERE to read it.

But that does beg the question – what exactly did people eat in the Middle Ages? There are several books you can download on Amazon that give you good medieval recipes including The Medieval Cookbook by Maggie Black – click HERE to see.

What makes me salivate is the interesting mixture of flavours that people used in the Middle Ages. We’ve got used to certain spices appearing with…

WESTERN JOURNALISM

Barack Obama is keeping his promise to lower the sea levels, and he’s starting with the drought- plagued Midwest where Lake Michigan water is being shipped by the boatloads over to China!  By using a little-known loophole in the 2006 Great Lakes Compact, Obama minions are allowing Nestle Company to export precious fresh water out of Lake Michigan to the tune of an estimated $500,000 to $1.8 million per day profit. By draining the precious jewel of the Great Lakes in the middle of America, our federal water managers are allowing the export of our water out of our country across thousands of miles of oceans into the Asian basin plagued by huge population centers that are suffering from their constant lack of fresh water.  How’s that for cutting America down to size?

The water is being sold at a “240 times markup”; that is…

There exists a tremendous body of evidence that indicates the destructive connections between government and finance. That most people are unfamiliar with them and rarely pay attention to these things is what lends to the idea that its a ‘conspiracy’. No, it is easily verifiable fact for anyone who takes the five minutes to read about it.

Regulating various industries feeds the concept that government intervention is beneficial and this is sad, because its often harmful. Its also a distraction as the root causes are never addressed, only the symptoms. This is by design as the collective can easily sacrifice an individual to preserve the body of the whole.

What more likely occurs is the individuals actually doing the regulating come from the industries they are supposed to be watching. Often they leave government and go back into their previous line of work. This moral hazard…

Since 2010, the UN Food and Agricultural Organization have stated that the rise in food prices is directly correlated to the 80 million people being added to the world’s population annually. This fact, according to the globalists at the UN, is beginning to “tax both the skills of farmers and the limits of the earth’s land and water resources.”

Added to this problem are the 3 million people who are “moving up the food chain” eating more than their share in gluttonous nations like the United States and China.

While New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is announcing that the city plan to ban sugary beverages larger than 16 ounces to curb the waistlines of the average New Yorker, the rest of the world is wondering where their next meal may be coming from.

In the UK, the average person’s weight continues to dramatically increase with the…
