College kids play a game called Zombie VS Humans and carry fake Toy Nerf Guns around all the time! Some kid probably painted his gun black!

Humans vs. Zombies (HvZ) is a game of moderated tag played at schools, camps, neighborhoods, military bases, and conventions across the world. Rochester, N.Y. – An umbrella was mistaken for a possible gun on the RIT campus Friday morning according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

A bus driver spotted someone with an object that looked like a gun, but the item was only an umbrella.

A campus alert was sent out to RIT students and staff warning about a possible gunman near Kate Gleason Hall.

Officials at the Rochester Institute of Technology are advising students to stay inside due to an alleged report of a gunman on campus.An RIT alert said a person was allegedly spotted with a rifle outside Kate Gleason residence Hall. The RIT website advises students to stay inside and lock or barricade doors until further notice.

RIT sent out an automated message to students and parents alerting them of the situation.
